ISSA Engineering delivered the structural steel fabrication and installation for seismic strengthening and new lift and structure within this high-profile commercial building on Queen Street.
The project presented significant fabrication and installation challenges, with several structural members weighing over one tonne which required complex fabrication, including more than 20 hours of welding per beam. Restricted access, extensive overhead drilling, existing building conditions, and large floor openings for the future lift and stairs required careful planning and a methodical installation approach.
A significant portion of the works was completed during night shifts, with materials carefully delivered and staged through Queen Street to maintain the program and minimise disruption.
The project demonstrated ISSA’s ability to deliver complex structural steelwork safely, accurately, and efficiently within challenging existing buildings.
